Psalm: 142

Meditation

Acts: We have here a very curious event. Sceva (pronounced S-eeva) was a high priest; the thing is priests generally did not believe in angels nor demons. Paul had been casting out demons throughout the region of Ephesus. These seven of Sceva were drawn to what they saw as magical. They, of course did not believe in Christ but they knew it was through His name demons were cast out. Well, surprise, surprise! These demons challenge Scevas’ boys:” Jesus, I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you.” Do you know who I am?

Gospel: Mark 9:2-13

New Testament: Acts 19:11-20

Old Testament: 2 Samuel 11:1-27
