Psalm: 7

Meditation

The Jews/Christians in Corinth can become a bit fuzzy. There does not appear to be a clear distinction between Jews and Christians – for instance which Jews are believers in the Lord, and those that are not. Paul goes to the synagogue continually to persuade Moses’ disciples and to prove by the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. Recently arrived from Rome were Aquila and Priscilla (having been driven out of Rome by Claudius the Emperor). Paul announces that he is now turning to the Gentiles because the sons of Israel continue to be obstinate. Happily, Silas Timothy joined Paul in Corinth.

Gospel: Mark 8:11-21

New Testament: Acts 8:1-11

Old Testament: 2 Samuel 7:1-17
