Psalm: 107
Meditation
Acts: Paul, Silas and their companions roamed (aimlessly, as I see it) throughout the region (Asia Minor) but the Lord and the Holy Spirit prevented them from going deeper into Asia and Bithynia (the northern region of Asia Minor). We have come to term Paul’s shift to Macedonia as the “big left turn”. This direction was affirmed when Paul saw a vision of a man in Macedonia call out to him: “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” (v. 9) Thus Paul and Silas sailed from Troas along the coast of northwest Asia Minor and landed in Neapolis and from there they walked to Philippi, perhaps 20 miles away. By this time Timothy was a member of Paul’s party.
