Acts: Barnabas first shows up in Acts chapter 4. He had sold a field and gave the proceeds to the Apostles. He next went to Tarsus to draw out Saul (Paul) to the evangelizing ministry. From there Barnabas brought Saul (Paul) from Antioch (in Syria) to Jerusalem to introduce him to the Apostles there. By this time Barnabas had credentials enough to allay any misapprehensions the Apostles my yet have concerning Saul (Paul), not unlike the support Aaron was to Moses.
