Psalm: 18

Meditation

1 Samuel: These verses prove how stubborn and resolute King Saul had become. Samuel had already advised Saul that the kingdom was destined to another. There are some things which we hear from the LORD and some which we do not. I think Saul did not hear Samuel say that because of disobedience Saul had lost the kingdom. Naturally, Saul wanted his son Jonathan to succeed him. Saul was unstable. Here Saul was determined to execute Jonathan for the heinous crime of eating some honey after having achieved a great victory over the Philistines.

Gospel: Matthew 22:1-14

New Testament: Romans 5:1-11

Old Testament: 1 Samuel 14:36-45
