Psalm: 95

Meditation

Acts: Gamaliel prevails. Who is Gamaliel? Turns out he was a Pharisee and a wise man and apparently of some influence. He persuaded the Sanhedrin (the governing body of Israel) not to quash the Apostles from preaching the name of Jesus.  He cited earlier false messiahs who had failed in their uprisings and died, telling the priests and leaders that if this “thing” is of God they could not stop it. Paul, whom we all believe to have been brilliant, was, at first, a disciple of Gamaliel (Acts 2:23)

Gospel: Luke 21:37 – 22:13

New Testament: Acts 5:27-42

Old Testament: 1 Samuel 6:1-16
