Luke: Another prism through which to glimpse what was happening on the Mount of Olives.  Jesus is praying but His disciples (Peter, James, & John) were asleep a few feet away. Jesus is praying for God to take the cup from Him. The answer is “No.” Jesus’ response: “Not my will but Yours be done.” (v. 42) An angel appeared to Jesus – even if His disciples were not asleep, it is unlikely they would have seen the angel. My guess is that the angel was sent to Jesus to reassure Him of His Father’s love.
