Psalm: 84

Meditation

Deuteronomy: First Moses warns against corrupt judges. They are to show no partiality i.e., not to the poor as needy nor to the rich who may attempt to bribe. Next Moses discusses who the king should be – someone chosen by God from among his people, but this was written some 350 years before the first king (Saul) elected by God. The king was to have a “copy of this law… It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life.

Gospel: Luke 18:1-8

New Testament: 2 Corinthians 8:1-16

Old Testament: Deuteronomy 16:18-20, 17:14-20
