2 Corinthians: Encouraging people to give to the people of God (the Church) was as difficult then as it is today. Nowadays people are distrustful of giving to churches or church groups. The PTL & Jimmy Swaggart scandals of 30 years ago soured many evangelicals from giving and not to be outdone, the priest scandal in the Catholic Church caused a rather substantial drop off in their faithful’s giving. None of all that matters for it is all God’s money.
