Hebrews: This is an eloquent rendering of the old sacrificial system which itself, was a foreshadowing of the atonement which was perfected in Jesus’ sacrifice of Himself by His own blood. He presents Himself in the heavenly Temple not made with hands and propitiates by His own blood those who believe in Him. How could anyone attempt to improve upon such a perfect sacrifice by trying to curry favor by good works?
