Luke: Jesus feeds 5,000 people with only 5 loaves and 2 fish. A parallel can be made about this event and Moses’ wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. The “manna” the people received was enough for each day – none left over (excess turned bad overnight). This was God making provision for His people as in “Give us this day our daily bread.” Here God is providing bread of two kinds: the stuff one eats and the “bread of life”.  (See John 6:32-40 and really learn how to frighten people.)
