Psalm: 84

Meditation

Matthew: Pearls are regarded as valuable semi-precious stones; some quite costly but what are they but the growth (tumor) that the oyster must suffer. Still, too valuable to discard. Most of the time when we think of “casting pearls before swine” (KJV) it has come to mean wasting good advice on a fool (i.e., one who won’t listen). Proverbs is full of singular aphorisms regarding fools. But here, fool can be taken to mean a stubborn and unrepentant sinner.

Gospel: Matthew 7:7-14

New Testament: 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

Old Testament: Daniel 9:1-15
