Colossians: Yesterday we considered earthly kingdoms and how easily (or not) they all pass away. Today consider your heavenly abode; it cannot pass away; it will suffer no corruption. Paul urges us to abandon all earthy ties in favor of heavenly ones. Abandon our close connections to the “world” for ultimately, they lead us to idolatry which Paul identifies as greed.
