Psalm: 147

Meditation

Ezekiel: This is a vivid rendering of the “general resurrection” at the end of the age – the valley of the dry bones. We shall all die and in time (for most of us) what will be left will be bones only. Resurrection is not much treated in the Old Testament except for Job 19:25-26 (we looked at him last Saturday). Ezekiel is called to prophesy (or speak) to the dry bones and then to call the 4 winds to give the bones breath. (Breathing is the action of the Holy Spirit.)

Gospel: John 15:12-27

New Testament: Acts 3:11-26

Old Testament: Ezekiel 37:1-14
