Romans: The whole exhortation of Romans 2:25-29 is a rephrasing of Jesus’ quote in Matthew 15:8 and Mark 7:6 which he cited from Isaiah 29:13 namely: lip-service. The advantage of the Jews over the rest of us is that they were entrusted with the Word of God (and they did a great job of preserving it). The Sophist (or foolish) argument is: if my sin causes glory to God, then why am I held accountable for it?” Read on and consider the cost to Christ.
