Meditation
Here in Deuteronomy we get a (fleeting) glimpse of just how detestable false gods are to the LORD. He warns his people to keep far away (i.e., detest) these false gods and the gold and silver they are made from. God wants Israel to destroy utterly all the idols especially those of precious metals. If this happened to the inhabitants of Canaan, do you suppose it will escape the Israelites should they fall into false worship?
