Psalm: 98

Meditation

The theme for Lent will be avoiding complacency in our daily walk with Christ. Opening with a stern warning: We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard so that we do not drift away…” (v. 1) Drifting away is the very definition of complacency. We run the risk of becoming “lukewarm” as described in Revelation chapter 3, if we think, as the Jews of old did that “we’re all set.” Take heed.

Gospel: John 1:19-28

New Testament: Hebrews 2:1-10

Old Testament: Deuteronomy 6:16-25
