These are the waning days of Epiphany (the manifestation). Today’s reading recounts for us Jesus’ triumphal entry in Jerusalem. How does He come into town? He comes riding on a donkey – a symbol of peace. Revelation tells us that the next time He comes He will be astride a white horse – a symbol of victory and justly so for He will be coming to defeat, once and for all, sin and death. This entry into Jerusalem triumphant marks His last “manifestation” to the people.
