Isaiah: This entry from Isaiah is just a little baffling: Isaiah is speaking of the Judean captivity in Babylon but that is not going to happen for about another hundred years. The more immediate threat is found in Assyria which will carry the Northern (10) Tribes off to Assyria and beyond. They have yet to return as a people and are commonly referred to as the 10 Lost Tribes. But Isaiah is speaking of Babylon. The LORD wants the Jews (those left in Judah and Benjamin) to understand He has not left them to their own devices – He will guide them as He did their ancestors from Egypt.
