Mark: The parable of the sower. This describes 4 different scenarios regarding the sown seed. If we consider the seed the Word of God, it appears everyone gets an opportunity. Here Satan is likened to the birds who “snatch” the Word away. Satan is not mentioned again in this parable. Who can help those on the “rocky” soil? What becomes of them? See Isaiah 6:9-10. These are the very fearful. The seed among the thorns are those who should not watch TV news – a mill for grinding out fears.
