Psalm: 109, 117

Meditation

Ephesians: There is much ado about power. The kind of power Jesus exercised was more in the nature of patience and understated display, when Jesus performed His miracles they were not understated simply by what He performed: calmed the sea, multiplication of loaves and fishes, raising the dead – hardly “understated” – more like “matter-of- fact”. He wanted God to receive the glory, after all it was through Him to Whom Jesus appealed. So reconsider what kind of power you seek.

Gospel: Mark 1:14-28

New Testament: Ephesians 1:15-23

Old Testament: Isaiah 40:25-31
