Psalm: 94
Meditation
Hebrews: This is one of the scarier passages of the New Testament. It speaks of things we don’t like to think about and may tarnish somewhat our cherished view of eternal security. Simply put, we are talking about sin and building a healthy respect for the evil intrinsic to it. Jonathan Edwards’ was so moved by this passage that his most famous sermon is based on verse 31 here. Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God or to quote St. Paul “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall.” We are speaking of apostasy here.
