Psalm: 137, 138

Meditation

Isaiah: The reading begins with comforting words (of course) “Comfort, comfort my people …” (v. 1) That is actually a command and try to treat it as such. My interpretation, just on the face of it, is that we can trust God to take good care of us. Throughout all of Scripture we are encouraged to “fear not” – How good are you at that?

Gospel: John 1:1-7, 19-20, 29-34

New Testament: Hebrews 1:1-12

Old Testament: Isaiah 40:1-11
