Galatians: It won’t take long to assign the Galatians as legalists. When Paul speaks of God’s promise spoken to Abraham and to his seed. I always have the same difficulty with “seed” and then “and to seeds”. Paul goes a long way in explaining this text. Genesis 12:7 “And to thy seed I will give this land.” (KJV) Descendants and seed are the same thing. There is one descendant who can and will fulfill the Law without fault. He it is Who secures our inheritance even as Isaac secured his. Isaac was the son of promise and Jesus is the seed through Whom all the families of the world will be blessed.
