Psalm: 77, 87

Meditation

Ephesians: What Paul says here to the Gentiles cannot carry the same weight as it would to the Jews. The Jews were the “chosen people’ who jealously guarded their status with God and viewed it as exclusive. The Gentiles (i.e., “the Nations” were regarded as unclean. Even the Law forbade intermarriage with non-Jews (it didn’t stop them though; it proves a recurring problem throughout all their history). The truth is that the prohibition was only put in place to keep the Jews from falling into idol (false god) worship. Consider Solomon’s life! (1 Kings 11:1-40)

Gospel: Mark 2:13-22

New Testament: Ephesians 3:1-13

Old Testament: Isaiah 42:1-17
