Psalm: 145

Meditation

Isaiah: Isaiah offers us yet another look far into the future when the Lord will return for a second time. The Lord became incarnate and appeared to us the first time as, to use Isaiah’s own words, ”Prince of peace”. (Isaiah 9:6) Not so the second time – He will be on a mission to trample the nations (v. 6). Someday God’s patience will run out (Luke 21:24), “Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled” This is Jesus’ description of what Isaiah saw. It may yet be many a year hence.

Gospel: John 5:1-15

New Testament: Revelation 2:18-29

Old Testament: Isaiah 63:1-5
