Psalm: 64
Meditation
1 John: Repetition is the mainstay of a good biblical passage. I think things are repeated to draw attention to their importance. Most of the Psalms are a series of repetitious phrases perhaps because they are songs (mostly of praises to God). The significance to the terms “fathers”, “young men” and “little children” may be lost on us but one commentator (ESV Study Bible p. 2431-2432) suggests it refers to the stages of a Christian’s life. The important thing: “Don’t live the world…”” (v. 15)
Gospel: John 6:41-47
New Testament: 1 John 2:12-17
Old Testament: Joshua 1:1-9
