Isaiah: Isaiah is describing Jesus and what He will affect during His ministry. The one word which caught my eye was “delight” in verse 1. Twice in Jesus’ life (that the Scripture tells us), God had revealed “This is my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22). God does this again at Jesus’ transfiguration using virtually the same words. Once one is in Christ, the very same will apply to him. This passage would serve to encourage Jesus as He faced His trials and death.
