Isaiah: In the opening Isaiah is speaking of the Pentateuch (the Law) or “the testimony” (v. 16) for the people had long ago abandoned it. So Isaiah can be likened in part to Elijah’s as being part of the remnant (or “disciples”).(v.16) The remainder against consulting with mediums, soothsayers and the like is only a rephrasing of Leviticus 20:6 which was a capital offense. The remainder easily sound much like the chaos we can expect during the end times.
