John: On Tuesday we read in John 2 about the wedding at Cana and closed with Jesus having revealed His glory “and His disciples believed in Him”. (John 2:11) I am always tempted to add “Yes, but for how long?” Jesus must be asking himself “How can I reinforce the lesson at Cana?”, and so asks Philip a trick” question. Andrew then plays right into His hands and brings a boy laden with some bread and fish. So Jesus meets the need of the people and multiplies the loaves and fishes. The people began to acknowledge that Jesus was the “Prophet” spoken of by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15 “You must listen to Him.”
