1 John: We celebrated the life of the first martyr yesterday today we look at (to our knowledge) the only apostle who was not martyred. Interestingly enough, in 1 John the apostle often refers to God as “light”. “In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.” (John 1:4-5) Light is the theme in both passages.
