Psalm: 60

Meditation

John: The NIV sets these verses apart because they are not contained in the earliest (or extant [or existing]) texts. The point is WWJD if a woman was caught in the act of adultery (as though that were something she could do by herself – where was the partner of her sin?). The teachers of the Law and Pharisees needed to know what Jesus would do. So he crouched down and started writing in the sand. The Pharisees continued to press Him and He replied “Let anyone of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Clever.

Gospel: John 7:53 – 8:11

New Testament: 2 Thess. 1:1-12

Old Testament: Isaiah 6:1-13
