1 Thessalonians: It may come as no surprise the 1 Thessalonians discusses the second coming of Jesus. What will surprise is that we won’t be looking at that feature today. Paul talks of being maltreated in Philippi – sure he was cast into jail, but in reading his letter to them he treats the whole experience as a joyful one. This will prove to be a springboard in Thessalonica. He reminds them of his love for them in gentleness not willing to be a burden to them.
