Psalm: 86

Meditation

1 Thessalonians: Much of what Paul talks about here will not resonate with people today – too much puritanism. People believe today that if one does not hurt another (whatever it) is it becomes permissible and just shy of godly. We now live in a world where right is wrong and wrong is right – an upside-down world. Since we have no moral standards today, we thus have no restraints upon ourselves. Paul want these Thessalonians to remember what they have been taught: “Yet we urge you brothers, to do more and more.”(v. 10b)

Gospel: Luke 20:41 – 21:4

New Testament: 1 Thess. 4:1-12

Old Testament: Isaiah 3:8-15
