Psalm: 119:145-176
Meditation
Micah: The inheritance of the Promised Land was intended to be perpetual. One could not sell it. What one could do is exchange for a given amount of time, at the end of which the property was to be returned. Not unlike taking out a mortgage on one’s own property. That is what the “Year of Jubilee” was all about: the returning of such property to the original owner. It has also been likened to indentured servitude. This was a time of great skepticism where false prophets abounded so then whom to believe? Much like today.
Gospel: Luke 7:18-35
New Testament: Acts 23:23-35
Old Testament: Micah 2:1-13
