Psalms: 140, 141

Meditation

Luke: This incident in Jesus’ life tends to lend credence to the myth that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute – let us be clear –She.  Was.  Not. This particular woman is unnamed but she is identified as a “sinner” or prostitute. She comes up behind Jesus and begins weeping and washing Jesus’ feet with her tears. She also anoints Him with expensive perfume. It is clear she is sorry and repentant for her sins and Jesus responds by telling her that her sins are forgiven.

Gospel: Luke 7:36-50

New Testament: Acts 24:1-23

Old Testament: Micah 3:1-8
