Psalm: 116

Meditation

Hosea: Hosea is classified as a minor prophet only because his prophecy is relatively short only 13 chapters. [Daniel, which is 12 chapters is considered a “major” prophet, more because of content over length.] Hosea’s name we’ve seen before under other guises: Joshua and Yeshua (Jesus). This Hosea was given an unusual task: marry a prostitute. Of course, it was unusual – that’s what prophets do and time and space do not allow me to venture further. This marriage of Hosea’s is to serve as an object-lesson to Judah which became a whore.

Gospel: Luke 5:1-11

New Testament: Acts 20:17-38

Old Testament: Hosea 2:14-23
