Psalm: 119:97-120

Meditation

Luke: If I am going to continue to do this, I have got to learn New Testament Greek. Case in point: “The devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world and he said to Him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor for it has been given to me…” (Luke 4:5-6)  (See Psalm 24:1) My trouble is with the term “authority”. This particular lie has gained some purchase among evangelicals because we tend to think that all authority was also surrendered. Not so, as Jesus points out: God is still sovereign.

Gospel: Luke 4:1-13

New Testament: Acts 19:1-10

Old Testament: Esther 6:1-14
