Acts: This reading recounts how the gospel came to Macedonia and Greece. It was clear that the Holy Spirit was re-directing Paul’s efforts of evangelizing in Asia Minor (modern Turkey) what has been called the “Big Left Turn”. In time the gospel will spread throughout Asia as evidenced by John’s letters referenced in the book of Revelation. So Paul went from Troas, on the northwestern region of Asia and then island-hopping to Samothrace (an island in the Aegean Sea) on to Philippi, a Roman outpost In Macedonia. Then south to Greece.
