Psalm: 78:40-72
Meditation
John: Jesus and John the Baptist’s lives interweave yet again in this passage. In Matthew 11:1-19, Jesus speaks eloquently about John the Baptist noting that he came neither eating (gluttony) nor drinking (drunken) and yet “they” say he has a demon. Jesus, on the other hand, came eating and drinking and they call him a glutton and a drunkard. Here Jesus says: But “even though you do not believe Me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand…” (v. 37) “Though John never performed a miraculous sign, all that John said about this man was true.” (v. 41)
