Psalms: 131, 132

Acts: Paul is in Ephesus (in Turkey) at this point.  His fame had spread for he had healed many. Peter faced the same kind of notoriety back in Acts 5:15 where even his shadow brought healing. Here, Paul’s handkerchiefs do the same thing. The seven sons of Sceva, as sons of a Jewish chief priest should have known better. So the demoniac turns on them and beats them to a pulp. One more note: the 50,000 silver pieces (the cost of the books) comes to about $8,000 in 2019 American dollars.

Gospel: Luke 4:14-30

New Testament: Acts 19:11-20

Old Testament: Esther 7:1-10
