Psalm: 92
Meditation
Acts: Very early on there were those who sought to impose rules and regulation on the faithful. At the time of Abraham, the mark of the Covenant was circumcision – a rather drastic measure to take. It is still required, even to this day, for Gentiles converting to Judaism. This was a sacred ritual after all Jesus Himself submitted to it – but it does not do anything. Paul railed vigorously against the necessity of circumcision, but it was finally decided at the Council of Jerusalem: No circumcision. The demarcation between Gentiles and Jews must be done away.
