Psalm: 77

Revelation: Much of Revelation is interpreted literally. This is a bad practice. The rule of interpretation is that the rendering must make sense to the 1st century hearers. I don’t pretend (claim) to know who the 144,000 are but that they had the Lamb’s Name and the Father’s Name written on their foreheads tells me something I had seen in Deuteronomy 6:8. The Israelites were encouraged to bind the Law (i.e., the 10 Commandments) to their hands and on their foreheads. This time it is “hidden” Name of the Father and the Son.

Gospel: Matthew 5:13-20

New Testament: Revelation 14:1-7, 13

Old Testament: Job 25:1-6, 27:1-6
