Psalm: 135
Meditation
Judges: Chapter 13 opens with “Again the Israelites did evil in the LORD. If you’ve been following along through Judges you have experienced the “again” and “again” yet again. The mantra and foreshadowing is: “There was no king in Israel in those days; everyone did what he thought was right.” This chronicle of Samson is remarkable on several levels: his was another prophesied birth. He was chosen to deliver Israel from the Philistines – as a Nazarite – which explains his long hair. He lived a dissolute life but managed to kill more Philistines in his death (a suicide) than while he lived.
Gospel: John 3:22-36

Old Testament: Judges 13:1-15
