Psalm: 59

2 Peter: This is Peter’s rendering of the Transfiguration in, shall we say, less than impressive terms. Some might call it humility, I call it inadequate to the task. Jesus had just revealed Himself as He was and will be in glory; has the nail prints and other indicators of His passion and death. Sure, Peter was a bit tongue-tied Paul describes such a situation as “Eye hath not seen not ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man…” (1 Cor. 2:9) That citation is a shameless misuse of Scripture used only to underscore the point:  a sight to behold.

Gospel: Luke 9:23-36

New Testament: 2 Peter 1:13-21

Old Testament: Exodus 34:29-35
