Psalm: 50

Meditation

Romans: This section of Romans is far less theological than the earlier portion of the letter. Here Paul is exhorting his readers toward the practical side of our faith much as James does in his epistle. Prefer others to yourself and view others as more honored that yourself. Try to keep the light off of yourself – something akin to John the Baptist who said: “He must increase but I must decrease.” (John 3:30 NKJV) Always put others before yourself. Consider Jeremiah 48:10 “a curse on him who is lax on doing the LORD’s work.”

Gospel: Matthew 26:17-25

New Testament: Romans 12:9-21

Old Testament: Joshua 4:19 – 5:1, 10-15
