Numbers: Because the territory east of the Jordan was conducive for raising cattle and because the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and half of the tribe of Manasseh had much sheep, they requested of Moses that their inheritance be carved out of that parcel of land (formerly the land of Og king of Bashan and Sihon king of Hesbon). This was acceptable to Moses provided that their armed forces (men between 20-60 years of age) fight with the remaining 9 ½ tribes to help them gain their inheritances.
Gospel: Matthew 23:1-12
New Testament: Romans 8:26-30
Old Testament: Num. 32:1-6, 16-27
Loving this format Elisabeth, that has made my morning Bible reading routine so convenient, especially when traveling and I don’t have the church bulletin with me.
That’s the idea!
