Psalm: 136

Romans: The “great exchange” where Jesus takes our sins and gifts us with His righteousness. God demands a human sacrifice. As we consider that, we shudder. It is difficult for us to appropriate the gravity of sin.  In the Garden of Eden God warned speaking of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil “for when you eat of it you will surely die.” Gen. 2:17). Seems a steep price for disobedience and it was. God’s plan was to have a “do over” this time with Jesus, His Son, Who would prove obedient.

Gospel: Matthew 22:1-14

New Testament: Romans 8:1-11

Old Testament: Numbers 23:11-26
