Psalms: 16, 23

Matthew: This will mark the fourth time in Matthew that Jesus predicts His death and resurrection. As stated earlier, the disciples stop listening (if not to the whole prophecy certainly its resurrection ending). This will prove to be “Palm Sunday”, meaning Good Friday is just as the end of this week. I often marvel at the mercurial poll numbers that come out (after an election) testing the public on their ability to stomach their elected officials. The numbers go up then down then up then down again. The poll numbers Jesus drew would continue to fall until He was dead later that week.

Gospel: Matthew 20:17-28

New Testament: Romans 5:1-11

Old Testament: Numbers 17:1-11
