Psalm: 98

Acts: Abundant with prophets (those who speak forth the Word of God) and teachers, the Holy Spirit calls out five for mission work. Saul (Paul) paired with Barnabas are sent off to Cypress, where they are accosted by a magician, Elymas by name, who is endeavoring to dissuade Sergius Paulus the proconsul, from the faith. The normally gentle and timid Paul (I don’t see him as such) in essence curses Elymas with blindness “for a time” (v. 11) to help him “see” the error of his ways.

Gospel: Luke 12:41-48

New Testament: Acts 13:1-12

Old Testament: Numbers 6:22-27
